We are happy to have a Burundian, President of the Regional Women’s Forum

« We are very happy to have chosen a Burundian to lead this Forum because she leads a Regional Forum which includes 12 ICGLR countries and we will support her through activities that will be carried out at the national level ».

This was indicated by Mr. Felix NGENDABANYIKWA, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of National Solidarity, Social Affairs, Human Rights and Gender at the end of the meeting of the General Assembly of the Regional Women’s Forum held in Bujumbura from May 18 to 20, 2022.

Mr. Felix NGENDABANYIKWA said that there was an important agenda because he had to meet 12 member countries of the ICGLR, through the sessions, he should replace the structures that existed at the level of the committee of the Regional Women’s Forum.

During these elections, he reported that at the head of this Forum, he was elected A Burundian, Dr. Hon Sabine NTAKARUTIMANA, President of the Regional Women’s Forum.

He specified that the Government of the Republic of Burundi will support her to boost activities through activities that will be carried out at the national level.

It should be noted that the presidency of this Regional Forum was ensured by Mrs. Athia Moustafa from Sudan
